David Clerihews Gallery Show - American Portraits
Here is the first of David Clerihews galley exhibitions he curated whilst in lockdown. This ongoing series showcases the diversity in America, not just culturally but ways of life…from gun ranges to laundrettes and police stations. He began the project in 2010, as Obama was still in his 1st term in office, under the dark shadow cast by the banking crisis. He says “America felt like it was in a state of flux and although I was aware of racial tensions that exist from one state to the next, this project highlighted just how extreme it can be.”
